Training for Penitentiary doctors on topic "Human Rights And Health"

Georgian Young Lawyers Association and Global Initiative In Psychiatry, in cooperation with Open Society Georgia Foundation Law And Health Initiative on 5-7th of March conducted training for penitentiary doctors on topic "Human Rights And Health". Training was held in Bakuriani and was designated for penitentiary doctors both from Eastern and Western Georgia.

 

Following materials were used for training:

  •   Human Rights Convention;
  • Istanbul Protocol;
  • Georgian Law on Patients Rights;
  • Georgian Law on Confinement;
  • Human Rights in Patient Care (Open Society Georgia Foundation - Public Health Program, Handbook);
  • Mental Health and Human Rights (Open Society Georgia Foundation - Public Health Program, Handbook);
  • Confinement Code (project);
  • General Comment of The Committee Against Torture (CAT) on health treatment in penitentiary systems;
  • International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights.
