01.10.11 -  IFHHRO and WMA call for end to forced sterilization .

Friday, September 30, 2011

The World Medical Association (WMA) and IFHHRO, today condemned the practice of forced and coerced sterilisation as forms of violence that severely harm physical and mental health and infringe human rights.

They said that sterilisation is a form of birth control that should be available, accessible and affordable for every individual, within the full range of all alternative contraceptive methods. Barriers to sterilisation, once an informed choice has been made, should be minimised. Sterilisation should be available to any person who has reached the age of majority.

Tueday, September 27, 2011

Today’s society focuses mainly on the healthy and the strong. Although a large part of the population uses long term medication or experiences chronic pain this is almost never discussed; it is a taboo.

In order to draw as much attention as possible to the issue of pain management as human right and to overcome this taboo, IFHHRO teamed up with artist Bert Feddema who recently created a series of paintings on pain, pain medication and pain management.
